Sarah & John’s Wedding Day – Enjoying Kilkenny Castle

I first photographed Sarah and John on a super cold, wet and windy St Valentine’s Day in February 2016. I discovered quickly what a lovely friendly couple they were. We met in Kilkenny Castle directly across from The Rivercourt Hotel Kilkenny where they would have their wedding reception five months later.

Engagement Shoot

Engagement sessions are such a lovely way to get used to having your photograph taken before your wedding. There are no second chances on the way day itself, so having this practice run, can be so valuable. And I so enjoy getting to spend some more time with my couples before the big day. It was great to get to know Sarah and John a bit better.

Plus it is great fun, without the pressure of your wedding day – I had such fun with this pair, we laughed and joked our way around this stunning spot.

Wedding Day

Fast forward about five months and it’s the big day for Sarah and John. They were married in a small church in Callan followed by their reception in the lovely Rivercourt Hotel in Kilkenny.

This was a truly gorgeous wedding with a really laid back vibe that was enhanced by the magnificent outdoor setting of the hotel and outdoor terrace taking in the magnificent Kilkenny Castle.  Guests lounged on the terrace enjoying the sun and refreshments.  I don’t think that it could have worked out better for our bride and groom…!

Whilst guests were enjoying their cold drinks, Sarah and John slipped away with me for a short photo session followed by a few bridal party photos and then some quick family shots before being called in for dinner, speeches and of course dancing the night away.

Congratulations Sarah & John.  Wishing you both all the very best for your future life together.
